After
the Spell is Cast by Sage NightStar

After
the Spell is Cast, working name (other possible name Witcheries)
will be a collection of stories and experiences of how the Lord and
Lady and other deities have fulfilled the lives of non-public individuals
who are practicing Witches (nonpublic is defined here as anyone who
is not a professional or published author on the subject).
These professions
of divine experiences will be an inspiration to others in developing
their own skills and belief in magick and ritual--a Chicken Soup
for the Wiccan Soul, if you will. And for those who do not understand
Witchcraft or believe it to be evil, these stories will help them realize
that spell casting is simply the Witchs way of communicating with
the Divine.
If we as
Witches are to continue our journey to be free to practice The Craft
out in the open without fear, to continue educating others about what
we are and are not, then we must come out of the broom closet and start
using the broom! Most books and articles about The Craft focus on how
to cast a spell or connect with Deity. There is little personal testimony
published on results that Witches experience on a daily basis.
We often
hear or see the phrase And to be silent when studying or
researching spell casting. To be silent simply means that we must remain
quiet within in order to hear the God/Goddess speaking to us or to shield
our power during manifestation. We do not lose our power if a spell
has been cast, manifested, broken, ended, etc. and there is no harm
in sharing our experiences with others so that they may learn from our
successes, insights opportunities, perplexities, bewilderments or misjudgments.
Weve also been taught that keeping silent is necessary in order
to protect ourselves and The Craft to avoid prejudices, injustices,
etc. from others who have been negatively influenced about Wicca by
their own religions or by the media. We will never totally overcome
these challenges and be accepted into the mainstream if we continue
with this And to be silent mindset.
In her
book A Witch Like Me, Sirona Knight says that secrecy has
caused the mainstream population to view Witches and Wicca in a stereotypical
fashion.
Grey Cat
states in Deepening Witchcraft, there has been no study
to prove that magick works. This project will be a non-scientific study
based on personal experiences.
A
Witchs Grimoire by Gavin and Yvonne Frost is one of few
books that shares experiences with magick based on stories shared in
letters from their students. However, these experiences are based on
the teachings of the Frosts school, the Church and School of Wicca.
The concept proposed here for After the Spell is not limited
to one teaching or tradition. In addition, the experiences in After
the Spell are based on author interviews instead of being limited
to what the student chooses to share in A Witchs Grimoire.
Corporate
Magick by Bob Johnson includes a few case studies
of individuals who delved into Witchcraft to reach a corporate goal,
but these case studies are told by the author and are not testimony
based on questions and answers with the authors perspective.
The authenticity
of spells outlined in the hundreds of books about Witchcraft are based
on the authors own experience, trial and error, research, knowledge,
teachings, etc. The experiences shared in After the Spell is Cast
will be based on one on one interviews conducted by Sage NightStar with
nonpublic individuals who are practicing Witchesthose who purchase
and study the many spell books on the market. The integrity of the experiences
outlined will be based on the authors resources and references
within the Wiccan community in identifying and qualifying individuals
to be interviewed, interaction during the interview process, personal
and professional connections.
